Fitness isn't the goal—it's the support crew

A few weeks ago, I went to the Fitness Expo in Melbourne.

Now, you'd think a fitness expo would give a pretty clear picture of what fitness actually is, right? But as I walked around, camera and mic in hand, I realised... I wasn’t sure I had an answer myself. I've been in this game a long time—and still, that question hit me: What is fitness?

So I started asking people.

Everyone from athletes to vendors to regular attendees lit up when I asked them. Not one person said, "It's about improving your mile time" or "getting stronger." Instead, they spoke about what fitness meant to them—how it made them feel, how it helped them chase goals, or how it showed up in their life beyond the gym.

It hit me:

Maybe fitness isn’t something you need to improve before you can achieve something.

Maybe it’s the thing that supports you to get there.

Like a friend on the sidelines cheering you on. Like momentum. Like purpose.

So, the next time you tell yourself, “I’m not fit enough to do that,” flip the script:

Fitness is already there, backing you. You don’t need to earn it before you chase the goal—it helps you chase it.

If this got you thinking, you’ll want to catch the full Two Minute Tuesday episode—quick, raw, and straight from the heart.
